YWCA Southern Arizona Pathways Program
Graphic announcing partnership between Women's Foundation and YWCA to introduce Pathways Program for Single Moms
In partnership with Women's Foundation for the State of Arizona (WFSA), YWCA Southern Arizona continues to accept applications to Pathways Program for Single Moms, a program that supports single mothers in completing a certificate program in the fastest-growing STEM fields that pay a living wage.
"The main qualifying factor is that you identify as a single mom. After that, it is just completing our intake application and committing to completing one of the offered certificate programs," said Teleia Taumanu, YWCA Marketing & Development Coordinator. "Once you are enrolled, you receive full wrap-around support in anything you need. We're here to make sure you succeed," Taumanu said. When asked to define wrap-around support, Taumanu explained, "as in providing childcare stipends, study group space, one-on-one coaching, career planning sessions, a free laptop to ensure you can access course materials and, of course, 100% paid tuition of the certificate program."
Launched with WFSA originally in 2020, this program aims to disrupt the cycle of poverty we often see single mothers in. Since its launch, the program has expanded from Central Arizona to Northern and Southern Arizona. YWCA Southern Arizona is proud to host Pathways Program for Single Mothers in Southern Arizona.
"At YWCA, we are so excited to continue our partnership with Women's Foundation for our Pathways Program for Single Moms here in Southern Arizona. We believe this program is a crucial component of our work of advancing economic justice for our women — making measurable gains in livelihood for the families of single mothers," said Magdalena Verdugo, YWCA Southern Arizona CEO.
The Pathways program is funded by The David and Lura Lovell Foundation, the ECMC Foundation, and the Governor's Office. For more information about Pathways for Single Moms and the YWCA Southern Arizona, visit https://womengiving.org/pathways-for-single-moms-southern-arizona/.

Family-Owned and Operated Small Business LaTrelle’s Wins $334 Million Contract to Redesign Dining Options...
HOUSTON - January 11, 2023 - (Newswire.com)
LaTrelle's, the premier Houston-based firm specializing in owning and operating award-winning franchised and licensed restaurants in major airports across the country, has announced an exciting new $334 million contract with the City of Houston for William P. Hobby Airport, the first and only 5-Star airport in North America. LaTrelle's will begin work on the renovation of the airport's core dining destinations later this year.
Occupying 17,000 square feet of restaurant space, the new additions will elevate beloved local Houston brands and ensure national favorites are also offered with LaTrelle's signature blend of elite service, quality, and consistency. Feature brands LaTrelle's is proud to operate through franchise or license agreements at Hobby Airport will include Common Bond, The Rustic, Velvet Taco, Dish Society, Pinks Pizza, and Fat Cat Creamery, as well as Peet's Coffee, Jersey Mike's, Wendy's, and Dunkin'.
Construction will take approximately two years to complete. Food and beverage service will be uninterrupted at the airport as renovations are carried out in phases, ensuring travelers have myriad dependable dining options every step of the way.
Founded by W.A. James Sr., LaTrelle's debuted in Houston almost 40 years ago. As a bakery in the heart of Hobby Airport, LaTrelle's of Houston became an instant go-to for travelers thanks to delicious baked goods relying on James family recipes, as well as treats from other hometown vendors. LaTrelle's soon added the first airport Wendy's and Subway in the country to its Hobby Airport portfolio. Currently operating more than 30 restaurants in international airports throughout the U.S., LaTrelle's has earned a reputation for excellence and honesty among restaurant operators, the country's busiest airports, and other industry leaders.
"The first LaTrelle's airport location was in Hobby Airport. There, in just 350 square feet, we sold our grandmother's recipes," said Chris James, Business Development Director of LaTrelle's. "Our family all worked there. To grow from that to now overseeing and operating this 17,000-square-foot, multi-brand initiative is such a proud moment for LaTrelle's. We are still a small, family-operated business--and historically, projects of this scope have gone to larger corporations. But we work hard, every single day, inspired by one another and our city."
"We are bringing ourselves to this project, and we are Houston," said Cameron James, Operations Director of LaTrelle's. "Including national brands alongside a list of top local brands in our new plans for Hobby Airport was a natural choice for us, rooted in trust and relationships. We put together a proposal that aims to do right by our restaurant operators and the airport alike--everyone wins. When a local, family-owned and operated business like us is given the opportunity to spearhead a venture like this, it also sends an important message to other entrepreneurs: This is something that can happen in this city."

Scott’s Cheap Flights Announces Rebrand to Going
SCOTT'S CHEAP FLIGHTS ANNOUNCES REBRAND TO GOING
Since 2015, Going has helped our 2+ million members travel and experience the world. The company combines sophisticated software and human Flight Experts to discover flight deals and mistake fares up to 90% off.
Scott's Cheap Flights, a travel service that has saved its 2+ million members more than $500 million on flights, has officially rebranded to Going.
"We knew it was time for a brand change that recognized both where we are today and could also grow with us into the future," said co-founder and CEO Brian Kidwell. "The name Going has this sense of motion and excitement to it that fits perfectly for a travel company like ours."
Going began as a modest hobby after founder Scott Keyes uncovered a $130 roundtrip ticket from NYC to Milan in 2013. But what started as a simple cheap flight email list for friends has now grown to a wraparound travel service, including a cheap flight search engine, multiple newsletters, and a soon-to-launch mobile app. With the company growing beyond just Scott and beyond just cheap flights, the timing was right for a rebrand.
"I work with 65 amazing people and none of them are named Scott," said Keyes. "Each week, we help thousands of people get unexpectedly cheap flights, and every time they write back to say 'thank you, Scott,' I feel supremely guilty! This company has dozens of people who deserve credit, not one person. While the name Scott's Cheap Flights worked great when it was just me, I'm even happier to be at a company we're all building together on our mission to help people travel the world, and that's Going."
Collaborating with the award-winning agency Design Studio and reviewing more than 3,000 names, Going emerged as the ideal name that satisfied the following criteria:
Speaks to travel: The new name had to speak to what the company does, but not in a tired or overly expected way. Names that included the words "travel" or "flight" were set aside in favor of one that conveyed the travel experience more broadly.
Timeless and borderless: The new name had to avoid short-term trends and industry niches, provide room to expand and experiment, and engage a global audience.
Memorable: It was crucial to take this opportunity to streamline and shorten our brand name to something that was easier to recall whether heard on local news or viewed on a billboard. No more "Scott's Cheap Travels" or "Steve's Cheap Flights."
Underscores the company mission: Above all else, it had to align with the mission to help people travel and experience the world. The name Going achieves that.
"While this is a big visual change, one thing that hasn't changed is the soul of this company," said Kidwell. "We'll continue putting travelers first, continue sending out incredible cheap flights, and we're excited to build even more ways to help people travel beyond what we can deliver in an email."
The rebranding effort will also include the long-requested introduction of a mobile app in the first half of 2023, including an interactive map of cheap flights available in real time. The app will be made available for both iOS and Android. In the coming months, Going will also expand their newsletter coverage and introduce Going for Teams, a bulk membership option for companies to strengthen their employee perks.
About Going
Since 2015, Going has helped our 2+ million members travel and experience the world. The company combines sophisticated software and human Flight Experts to discover flight deals and mistake fares up to 90% off. Unlike fully automated fare alerts services, our deal alerts pass a rigorous quality evaluation to ensure they're worth members' hard-earned money and limited travel time.
Going members save an average of $200 on domestic economy flights, $550 on international economy flights, and $2,000 on international business and first-class flights. Every month we receive thousands of testimonials from members who've scored a great deal thanks to our alerts.
