Rosebud Restaurants Announces $4 Million Carmine’s Chicago Reconstruction Project

The iconic Gold Coast restaurant's last day of service before reconstruction will be Feb. 26, 2023

Today, Rosebud Restaurants announced that Carmine's Chicago will be temporarily closed for reconstruction beginning Feb. 27, 2023.

The $4 million reconstruction project is expected to last 15 months, with demolition of the existing building slated to begin shortly after the last day of service, Feb. 26. 

The new Carmine's will measure over 10,000 square feet of dining space and feature an expansive, all-weather, outdoor terrace overlooking Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood, stunning dining rooms and multiple bar areas on the first-floor entry and terrace. 

"At Rosebud Restaurants, our customers are always a top priority," said Alex Dana, founder of Carmine's parent company, Rosebud Restaurants. "This reconstruction will help us reach new levels of success when we reopen in 2024 by creating an even better, more memorable, dining experience." 

When Carmine's first opened its doors in the early 90s, it quickly became a hotspot for celebrities, Chicagoans and tourists alike. Its classic, Italian menu and prime location for people-watching have made it the top choice for many when it comes to dining out in Chicago. 

"Rosebud has continued to grow amidst all of the changes and challenges we've experienced as a city over the last 50 years," said Dana. "Unfortunately, we've seen many of our greatest competitors struggle to overcome these challenges, and it's with great admiration and respect to them that we approach new projects and continue to grow the legacy of iconic Chicago institutions." 

Since its first store opened in 1976, Rosebud Restaurants have expanded to include nine locations across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs and are celebrated for their commitment to serving up authentic, Italian recipes, generous portions and exceptional service. The new Carmine's building is one of many exciting projects on the horizon for Rosebud Restaurants. 

Throughout the Carmine's reconstruction, customers can enjoy their favorite dishes at neighboring Rosebud Restaurants locations:

Rosebud Randolph, 130 E Randolph St.

Rosetta Italian, 1 S Dearborn St.

Reflexions is pleased to announce that it has been engaged by Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) to modernize and redesign the organization's website, SmartTrip web applications, and other key customer touchpoints.

With over one hundred million annual riders on its buses and rail system, Metro plays a critical role in both the National Capital Region and the broader northeast corridor. Reflexions is eager to assist Metro in better serving and engaging with its customers through a more unified and modernized customer experience.

"While separately helping New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority [MTA] successfully launch its acclaimed OMNY fare payment system alongside Cubic Transportation Systems, our team is well-positioned to help Metro with digital strategy, design, and implementation support," said Daniel Leslie, a managing partner at the firm.

"We've assembled, if I may, one of the most talented and nimble teams in the industry that's pushing the limits of how the digital experience in transit can be more streamlined, more accessible, and more effortless for millions of riders each day," he added.

Apart from ongoing work with the MTA in New York and Metro in the capital region, Reflexions is currently playing a similar role in redesigning the customer experience for some of the largest transit authorities in the U.S. and the world, including the Port Authority of NY & NJ, Boston's MBTA, the Bay Area's MTC, and Translink in Queensland, Australia.

Reflexions began the multi-year, multi-million dollar engagement with Metro in late 2021 and is set to be completed in 2024.

Thinque Media announced today the new season of Wine Oh! TV will release on February 14, 2023. The brand new season will be founder and host Monique Soltani's first since losing her husband to Colon Cancer, the first as a single mom, and her first post-pandemic production.

"When Mark got sick, my show felt so small and when we lost Mark, we lost everything. Then Covid came and we lost community. I was drowning but I had our four year-old twins to save from sinking," remembers Soltani.

I rise again reborn with a new sense of purpose yet my intention remains the same. Life is meant to be shared. We come together around the table, life's most meaningful moments made with a meal. Human connection isn't just essential, it is everything, and as always, my through-line to connecting with the world is wine."

Wine Oh! TV invites audiences to join Soltani on her journey from trauma to triumph as she travels to wine regions around the world with the purpose of bringing people together by connecting through community and culture.

The new season of Wine Oh! TV debuts on Valentine's Day 2023 and made available to watch directly on wineoh.tv. The first episode features Umbria, Italy, the home of Saint Valentine, where he used a wine from the region to marry star-crossed lovers. Each additional new episode is set to be released throughout the winter and spring months and made available for audiences around the world to watch on wineoh.tv while distribution deals are in the works.

"As I think about Wine Oh! TV this season, the word joy always comes to mind," said Soltani. "After experiencing tremendous loss in my own life and learning to navigate a new normal with two small children, my focus now is to bring joy to the world. Wine Oh! TV is a family-friendly show you can turn on while you are making dinner and your children are running around the house or helping you in the kitchen. Wine is the through-line but at its heart it's about people, places, how we come together, and what connects us."

Every episode also answers three essential questions most asked by Wine Oh! TV's audience over the last decade: What is there to drink, what is there to do, and what is there to eat in each wine region. This season Wine Oh! TV shines the spotlight on smaller wine regions with Umbria, Walla Walla, Mendocino, Paso Robles, and Lodi taking center stage.

New this season, Wine Oh! TV brought on the best team in the business. The domestic episodes were shot by DuPont, Peabody, SPJ, Murrow, Scripts Howard, and Emmy award-winning Cinematographer Michael Horn and assisted by James Beard and Emmy award-winning journalist Mary Orlin. With power house Emmy award-winning Anaconda Street Productions making magic in the post production department. Wine Oh! TV is now shot in the half-hour format for legacy television and online distribution.

"I am so grateful to have found my way back after all I have been through and so thankful to all of you for seeing me through. We are all on a journey and I hope you will join me on mine as I travel to wine regions around the world with the purpose of bringing people together by breaking bread, opening a bottle, and connecting through culture," said Soltani.
